Classes begin with a short meditation/relaxation followed by stretches. All of this leads up to isolations, which are the core element of Sultana's level 1 classes. Once all the basic isolations have been taught, we review them each week and Sultana helps each student individually in the last classes of the term. Then there is a lesson of the week, adding a new element of the dance each week. This is followed by a folk dance and then we work on a choreography. By the end of the first term students should be able to perform the entire choreographed routine. Most students take level 1 only once.
